Allyson Mitchell is the General Manager of Mohawk Networks, LLC, an Internet Service Provider owned by the Tewathahonni Corporation, the Section 17 Holding Company of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe. Mohawk Networks proudly holds U.S. Small Business Administration certifications as both an 8(a) tribal entity and a HUBZone enterprise. As GM, she oversees the Broadband Service Provider (BSP) in Akwesasne and a government contracting division specializing in IT, telecommunications, and emerging technologies, driving significant infrastructure investments in the BSP to address rapid broadband adoption, with a key focus on advancing digital sovereignty and bridging the digital divide. Mitchell is a dedicated advocate for broadband access and digital sovereignty for Indigenous communities, serving as an appointee on the NYS Connect All Broadband Access Advisory Committee and as Vice-Chair of the FCC’s Native Nations Communications Task Force. Her dedication to her community is evident through her role as Treasurer of the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club. Furthermore, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Native American Contractors Association (NACA) and leads the Aecon Mohawk Networks Joint Venture, a partnership specifically created to build broadband networks for Indigenous communities, prioritizing their digital sovereignty and bridging the digital divide.
